In October 2004, 5 months after having her daughter, Michelle was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer, we were optimistic and reassured her that everything would be ok and that we were all sure they would be able to cure her. Nothing ever happens to us, so she would be fine. She went on to endure all the Chemo and radiotherapy needed to help get rid of the cancer. In July 2005 things were starting to look up, she was regaining her strength and the Dr felt sure they had got rid of the cancer. At the end of July, the night before we were all geared up for the Race for Life in celebration that she had made it, she was rushed to hospital where we were told the most horrific news that would shatter ours and her 1 year old daughters lives forever, she was dying and the cancer was the most aggressive form. Two months of pain management and suffering passed and Michelle slipped away at her home at 1.15am on 12th September 2005 aged just 31.
